Quick question about Authors?

answers1: an Author is proud of his/her work so they is no way they
will let another person act like they wrote the book because as an
Author if you see your book selling that a good thing so you will not
want any one to get your credit. so l think that going to interview,
book signing, book preview show and many more is part of being an
author. And if you are an Author you want to be known so that people
will buy so books and interview and any other things you do are
publicizing your self.
answers2: No, they can't. But honestly? Most authors are not called
upon to do many, if any, face-to-face interviews. The vast majority of
authors will certainly never appear on television or radio, and they
can do print interviews over the phone or even by email. <br>
<br>
Moreover, there's no rule that says an author *has* to do interviews.
They're perfectly within their rights to refuse. <br>
<br>
You cannot just pay some actor to pretend to be you for your entire
career. Firstly, what if they died or something? Secondly, they
wouldn't be able to answer the questions truthfully or even correctly.
When an interviewer asked the actor, "Were you influenced by X author
or Y style of writing?", it's unlikely that an actor is going to be
able to answer convincingly, however much coaching they've had.
They're not inside your head. <br>
<br>
Also, if you think most authors make enough to pay a professional
actor to pretend to be them, you are seriously deluding yourself. Most
published authors don't even make a living wage, let alone enough to
pay staff. The JK Rowlings and Dan Browns of this world are VERY few
and far between.
answers3: It happens far more often than most people wish to recognise. <br>
<br>
I am heavily involved with a publishing house and know a lot of other
people who work in others and we all know when this happens, but we
are sworn to never divulge the who or when of it all. <br>
<br>
Most times it happens when a male author writes a really in depth love
story, or sometimes when they write a children's book. <br>
Then they publish them under a female name, and even have a female
friend take their place in everything that happens afterward, such as
book signings etc. etc. <br>
<br>
There is no real harm in any of it, and it is perfectly legal to do such things.
answers4: No. In the first place, no one but the author would be a fit
subject for interviews, because only the author knows the backstory
and can answer questions about the work. However, there is no rule
that says authors have to do interviews and stuff. There are a number
of very reclusive authors who do not do media interviews and who do
not give out personal information.
answers5: Samantha, authors joke about doing this all the time. A
great many of us are extremely shy, introverts, not confident about
our appearance, our speaking ability, our books. (S.K. raises her
hand.) <br>
<br>
But it doesn't work unless you lock that other person into a lifetime
contract. What the lucky authors who have a print book to promote do
is bite the bullet and assume a 'role,' as if they were actors,
playing far more confident and secure versions of themselves at
signings, readings, conventions, and similar events. <br>
<br>
Of course, a lot of promotion is done online, too, and even us shy
folks can be outgoing there.
