Donella Vasta: No, it will not affect you credit report. However, you want a good credit score then take small steps like paying your bills on time and using only part of the credit available to you. Victor Macallister: depends, if you have a car or house payment that establishes your credit..if neither use your card for a small purchase and pay it off each month.

Donald Caravalho: If you have a credit card, you should use it. Inactivity does look negative on your credit report. don't ask me why! Seems kind of stupid to me! But if you're looking at BUILDING your credit, using it and paying off the full balance each month is the way to go.

Malissa Porth: Its not bad but they often close the card when not used over a period of time. So dont try to use it in a pinch and get stuck.

Credit cards are considered revolving (usually non-secured) debt and small amounts are okay. What they would like to see is that you use them in moderate proportions, but pay the balance off each month.
