Myesha Zerbe: The best way to choose a career is to take some time to think about the things you like to do, what settings you like best, and what people you want to work with. For example, I might like helping people solve their personal problems. I might really like to work with little kids and I might enjoy working the school system. I also would prefer to work with people one on one. So one of the things I'd consider doing, is being a school counselor. If I preferred working with lots of people at once, perhaps I'd be some sort of teacher. But what if you aren't sure about what you like - or if you aren't sure in wh! at direction you want to go in? That is where career tests can be extremely helpful. You can check with your school counselor to and ask about this. (The Strongs Interest Inventory, Meyer's Briggs Type Indicator/Kiersey Sorter, and Holland Codes are three popular tests/methods for helping you to decide what kinds of jobs you might be intrested in.)If I were you, I'd go to two places:http://www.bls.gov/OCO/http://online.onetcenter.org/I'm not sure why I feel this way - I could be totally wrong as I don't know you, but I have a feeling that you actually do know what you want to do as a career deep down inside. If this is the case, then maybe you can try to get this book from the library:"I Can Do Anything If Only I Knew What It Was" by Barbara Sher. Excellent book and great career resource. All the best to you!...Show more
