Alexandria Popik: My advice is to stay away from Sony. Since they bought Aiwa, their quality turned to crap and their ethics were never too good to begin with (look at the DRM crap on their "Memory Sticks" and the cost vs. everything else and you have another reason to go elsewhere).
Ty Kirton: A 3 CCD is better than an ordinary camcorder. It has enhance everything compared to the camcorder. I think guys are right about the 3CCD
Darrel Stele: The Panasonic is definitely better all round. I think the Sony has a better battery system, but other than that, the Panasonic is a winner.

Shawn Lelis: Try JVC.I bought a JVC GR-D270U CamCorder that actually works well in low lighting.I bought two 6-hour lithium batteries online and they seem to last forever!You can ! use this as a webcam too, via firewire.The quality of this Dv camcorder is amazing.
