Coleen Carignan: Like anti-dbz said. It's a time where car companies can go wild with their designs and see how the public responds. If they get good feedback and can make a production model economically viable in the target market, then they move in to production. Most concepts don't make it to production though.
Claudio Drullard: concept cars are generally over priced and made as new technology demonstrations haha here's what i found online.A concept vehicle or show vehicle is a car prototype made to showcase a concept, new styling and new technology. They are often shown at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not have a chance of being produced.I believe some might be for sale, but they will make 1 maybe a few more of them, and trust me since its 1 of a kind it will have a crazy price tag. so it's a car made to see if people like it, and if they do then they have a good chance of being manufactured....Show more
Inge Mclaurine: Concept/Idea/Dream cars are ways to show off the skills of a car company's engineers and stylists. The second is as others have said. Marketing to test popularity of new designs and advanced features. The original Mustang was a design created by using two concept cars. The 1968 Corvette was derived from the Mako Shark concept car. The current Lincoln and Camaro are derived from concept cars. Most of the time pieces of a Concept car do make it into production. Like the option features and drive train Some exceed the, then current, technology. Such as Chrysler's near success in creating a production gas turbine engine. Back in the 1960's. It succeeded during race tests and development. But failed in the expense to mass produce bean counting section....Show more
Ruby Martis: opposite to standard concept, there have somewhat some "concept" vehicles that have long previous from drafting board to mass production. The Chrysler 3 hundred, circumvent Viper, F! ord Mustang, and definite even the GM Corvette are all concept! to productions vehicles. the main contemporary are of direction from Chrysler. yet, it relatively is only too in many circumstances authentic that the production value of those vehicles in many circumstances outweigh the belief. seem around and you will see what each and each producer has created from concept to production on quite a few streets. stable success and desire this permits....Show more
Jimmie Doerfler: Doesn't pass safety requirements for one. Too costly to build the concept design for two. Design not fit the real world, like head room or have a big enough gas tank. Concept cars does some times make it to production, like the Prowler, Viper, Challenger, Aztek.
Marhta Teahan: CONCEPT. As in a marketing tool. They don't build concepts because in the real world producing them wouldn't be cost effective or possibly legal (given safety ratings or emissions).
Tory Clapper: Concept cars are design to see the public response to a certain model or! feature in a car. If the public has a favorable response, then they may think on building it. Most Concept cars have rough designs that are too difficult to make into a production car. Most concept cars for one reason or another tend to be never to get to production. One of the reasons is that it would be too expensive to make for a small niche market.
