How do I pay for study abroad?

Jinny Dronen: You & your parents have to come up with the money. As a student, you cannot borrow in your country of citizenship since you are going abroad to school. You cannot borrow where you go to school because you have no income, no assets, no credit history, and no way to remain in that country. Student visas are temporary non-immigration visas. Why would a bank loan you money knowing you cannot remain in that country?Your parents can borrow in their country of citizenship & residence if they are employed, have sufficient earnings, assets, credit history, etc....Show more

Alma Twomey: No; there are no loans for studying outside your own country. You need to have rich parents, lots of savings, or get a private bank loan,

Janean Guz: This is a pretty common problem for a lot of students wishing to study abroad! Some good options are: apply for private scholarships, apply for scholarships/financial aid through your school/study abroad organization, get ! a job and save up money from your wages, and fundraising. Fundraising is made even easier these days with sites like indiegogo, gofundme, etc. Best of luck with study abroad!
